Hi. I’m Cody. I’m 24. I got a degree in literary journalism from UC Irvine. I’ve never written for a legitimate news organization. I started reading business books when I was ten or eleven and started trading stocks when I was twelve. I’ve always looked at the world through economics and can’t stop now.
As I’m restarting this blog I’ve realized I have to define it in order for it to matter. Ultimately it’s a look at the world and policies through the lens of citizen journalism, collected commentary, as much crunchable data as I can find, and the economic implications of the situation. I feel that in many situations if we just take a look at the economics of the problem, we tend to understand why different people have different positions. One of my teachers told me repeatedly “Follow the money, you’ll find the story.” I intend to base this blog on that. Look at the stories affecting people and follow the money. Figure out what’s going on, who is going to benefit and why. Should be fun.
